Job summary

PacifiCorp in Salt Lake City is seeking an Electronic Technician to support the reliable operation of the electrical grid through advanced communications technology. You will maintain voice and data systems, test equipment, and may direct junior staff; travel off-road in extreme weather as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, journeyman testing, and two years of utility experience plus an FCC GROL license with elements 1 and 3.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must pass journeyman level tests.
• Two years experience as an Electronic Technician in a power utility environment.
• FCC GROL license with elements 1 and 3.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining PacifiCorp Communication systems including voice/data systems, telephone systems, PBX's, DCS, radio systems, SCADA, fiber optics, and related equipment.
• Install, test and certify equipment; off-road travel in extreme weather may be required.
• Typically work on independent assignments, may coordinate with others as needed.
• May direct Electronic Technician Assistants.
• Manage company-provided vehicles, tools, and materials.
