Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS is seeking an Electronic Technician II for the Dade Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic and electrical systems to ensure secure, reliable facility operation.

You will work on perimeter security, internal electronic systems, CCTV, and associated equipment, reporting to the FDC office and training supervised inmates when appropriate. This is a non-telework position.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of electronics/electrician experience OR four+ years of electronics experience (training can substitute).
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
• Support knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated during application/interview.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices including perimeter and internal security systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, test logs, and record-keeping per guidelines.
• Repair and calibrate testing equipment and complex electronic gear.
• Plan work, requisition parts, and follow policies.
