The position of Electronic Technician II will perform the installation and maintenance of Kentucky StatePolice electronic equipment including, radios, radars, mobile data routers, antennas, emergency equipment, andother public safety equipment. The role of Electronic Technician II will work closely with other technicians.This position will also evaluate and develop new methods, practices, and new technical or electronic equipment asthey relate to Public Safety. All these duties are intended to equip the public safety personnel of theKentucky State Police with the tools they need to perform their duties safely and effectively.

Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following:
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Technical training in electronics or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional technical experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Work is typically performed in an office and/or electronic shop.
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
