Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Transportation Cabinet is seeking a Transportation Auto and Truck Technician I in Warren County to maintain district equipment including trackhoes, dump trucks and loaders. Work is in a repair facility or field setting, with priority on safety and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities include oil and hydraulics changes, diagnosing electrical issues, computer monitoring, and servicing equipment during snow and ice operations; CDL required with ability to obtain

Qualifications

  • High school graduate with two years of automotive/equipment/truck repair experience.
  • Vocational or technical school training can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must be 18 years of age and hold a valid driver's license; must obtain Class A CDL within six months.

By joining our Warren County Equipment Unit 212 as a Transportation Auto and Truck Technician I in Warren County, you’ll have the opportunity to Learn to maintain District wide equipment, including trackhoes, dump trucks, loaders, pumps, etc.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of automotive/equipment/truck repair technical experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Employees in this job classification must furnish the agency's appointing authority within six months of employment in the job classification, documentation that he or she possesses a valid Class A commercial driver's license. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possess and maintains required licensure(s), certification (s) or other credentials.

Probationary Period
