Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking customer-focused candidates to support the reliable operation of the electrical grid through advanced communications technology. This role is based in Salt Lake City, UT with 100% onsite work and requires an FCC GROL license and two years of Electronic Technician experience in a power utility environment.

The position involves maintaining a wide range of communication systems, installing and certifying equipment, and possibly supervising an Electronic Technician Assistant.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must pass journeyman level written and practical tests.
• Two years experience as an Electronic Technician in a power utility environment.
• FCC GROL License with elements 1 and 3.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PacifiCorp communication systems including voice and data systems, PBX, DCS, microwave, land mobile radio, SCADA, fiber optics and related equipment.
• Install, test and certify equipment; travel in extreme weather may be required.
• Work on independent assignments or with other personnel as needed.
• May direct the work of an Electronic Technician Assistant.
• Manage company vehicles, tools and materials used for this position.
