Job summary

Harvest Hill Beverage Company is seeking an Electronic Technician in the Maintenance department. The role involves installing, modifying, maintaining and servicing electrical systems and equipment on the production floor.

The candidate must be able to troubleshoot ac/dc motors, work with PLC controls, read schematics and operate safely under GMP and food-safety standards. On-site, hourly position with routine training and upskilling opportunities.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent plus two years of trade school or 4 years electrical and electronics work experience.
  • Willingness to attend job-related trainings to improve knowledge and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair ac/dc motors and control schemes.
  • Diagnose and repair/replace sensing devices such as photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, I/Ps.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
  • Work with high/low voltage systems (24vdc, 110vac, 208vac, 480vac).
  • Follow safety, GMP, and food safety rules.

Job Title: Electronic Technician
Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager
SUMMARY

The Electronic Technician is responsible for performing work related to the installation, alteration, maintenance and service of all electrical systems and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS to

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot and repair ac/dc motors and associated control schemes
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of a programmable logic controller (PLC)
  • Diagnose and repair/replace multiple types of sensing devices such as photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity sensors, I/Ps etc.
  • Diagnose electronic problems and replace down to board level circuitry
  • Work with high/low voltage systems and components such as 24vdc, 110vac, 208vac and 480vac.
  • Bend and run conduit and wire terminations.
  • Assess new equipment electrical needs for installation, plan/advice regarding the scope of work needed.
  • Assess and improve existing equipment performance and efficiencies as needed and where instructed.
  • Read and write electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
  • Use all standard measuring devices.
  • Good technical and critical thinking skills.
  • General knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Identify issues that he/she is not able to rectify and communicate them promptly to the Maintenance Manager for assistance.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS TO POSITION

SOPs are critical to meet customer specifications and maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Operator’s manual available on each line.

WORK SAFETY

Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks.

FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY

Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority if unable to initiate action.

BACKUP COVERAGE

In the absence of this position, another qualified Electronic Technician shall cover the absence.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

HS Diploma or equivalent plus two years of trade school or 4 years electrical and electronics work experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance. This also encourages confidence and sense of accomplishment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
