The Electronic Technician will modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components, or products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for troubleshooting and facilitating repairs on electronic/electrical equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Responsible for identifying and troubleshooting manufacturing processes, mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
- Interfaces with maintenance department to identify replacement parts or components as needed.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Applies principles and techniques of engineering to accomplish goals.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- Primary job functions typically require exercising independent judgment.
- Reports potentially dangerous electrical equipment to supervisor and takes steps to resolve the issue.
- Performs safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible in various conditions.
- May lead and direct the work of others.
- Develops and maintains a high degree of positive employee attitude as applied to their jobs and fellow employees.
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Will be responsible for backup duties of Maintenance Manager as needed.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

Education and/or Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- This position normally works in a manufacturing environment.
- Hearing, eye and foot protection are mandatory when engaged in activities in the plant.
- Ability to work in a 110-degree environment.
