Job summary

Vector Security is seeking an Electronic Systems Technician in Homewood, AL, with on-the-road duties for installation and servicing of residential and small to mid-sized commercial accounts. You will handle wiring, panel programming, system setup, and customer explanations.

The role includes training and mentoring Entry-Level technicians, ensuring work meets quality and paperwork standards. A HS diploma and valid driver’s license are required, with 1–3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1–3 years of industry experience is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.
  • Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install/service residential systems and small to mid-sized commercial accounts with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot basic systems and perform panel programming and system setup.
  • Train and mentor Entry-Level technicians on shared job sites.

Job Location: Homewood, AL / On the road

Summary:

As an Electronic Systems Technician you will be responsible for the installation and/or servicing of residential systems and small to mid-sized commercial accounts. Responsibilities include knowledge of basic wiring and panel programming, system set-up, basic troubleshooting, and explanation of system to customer with ability to answer questions.


Responsibilities:


  • Install/service residential systems and/or small to mid-sized commercial accounts:

    • Accurately complete installations and/or servicing with frequent to minimal supervision.

    • Troubleshoot basic systems of assigned types.

    • Utilize skills in basic wiring, panel programming, and system set-up.

    • Check for, and correct, any errors in work and paperwork.

    • Display professionalism when interacting with and communicating with peers, manager, and customers.



  • Train and mentor technicians:

    • Review work of EntryLevel technicians on shared jobsite and provide training to correct any errors.




Qualifications:


  • HS diploma or equivalent - required.

  • 1 - 3 years of industry experience - preferred.

  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history.

  • Certified Alarm Technician level 1 or equivalent - preferred.

  • Completion of minimum training/certification checklist required per Technician Career Path.

  • Communication:

    • Must be able to effectively communicate with various individuals in a professional manner in order to provide superior customer service.


  • Technical:

    • Must be able to understand technical functionality of various systems learned on-line and/or via hands-on instruction.
