Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Alarm licensing or ability to obtain licensing where required by state or local regulations preferred.
  • Field service, alarm, electrical, mechanical, bank equipment, or related technical experience preferred.

Electronic Security Service Technician
Position Summary

The ES Service Technician is responsible for performing scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, surveys, repairs, and project work at customer locations. This role requires the ability to prioritize workload, follow established processes and quality standards, accurately report service data, and maintain strong customer relationships. The technician serves as the primary customer contact while managing inventory, documentation, and assigned service activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Test, inspect, and maintain burglar alarm and fire alarm systems.
  • Perform alarm surveys, site surveys, software updates, and other customer-requested projects.
  • Change alarm batteries and verify system functionality through testing procedures.
  • Collect required operational and inspection data and submit accurate reports.
  • Take detailed photographs of equipment, devices, forms, and service areas as required.
  • Report defective materials, equipment concerns, and installation issues.
  • Maintain inventory levels and anticipate future inventory needs.
  • Organize and manage paperwork, documentation, and service records.
  • Schedule and manage assigned work to ensure service commitments are met.
  • Complete all jobs and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
  • Strong mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with burglar alarm, fire alarm, ATM, and bank equipment systems preferred.
  • Experience performing inspections, maintenance, or field service work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret written instructions, technical documents, and procedures.
  • Proficient with smartphones, mobile applications, and technology platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using mapping and routing applications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn through remote and hands‑on training.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and required insurance coverage when applicable.
  • Must satisfy customer background screening requirements where required.
  • Subject to pre‑employment, random, reasonable suspicion, post‑accident, and other drug and alcohol testing requirements in accordance with company policy.
  • Availability to respond to emergency service calls as required.
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Field service, alarm, electrical, mechanical, bank equipment, or related technical experience preferred.
    • Alarm licensing or ability to obtain licensing where required by state or local regulations preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and work in various physical positions throughout the day.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including during adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods with frequent travel.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent local and regional travel.
  • Work performed in banking centers, customer facilities, remote ATM locations, commercial sites, and outdoor environments.
  • Occasional after-hours, on-call, or emergency response work may be required.
