We are seeking an Electronic Repair Technician (ERT) to perform electronic, electrical and mechanical repairs on medical imaging equipment. This role is crucial for developing new revenue streams by establishing repair processes for high-failure parts and assemblies. Key responsibilities include system-level to component-level troubleshooting, using electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies), and conducting failure analyses without schematics. The ERT will document repair procedures, test results, and maintain detailed repair histories. The position is based in a clean, quiet, and well-equipped workshop, focused on repair, testing, process development, and product support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of analog, digital, and RF circuits at system, subassembly, and component levels.
  • Conduct QA testing to verify that parts are repaired and fully operational.
  • Perform PCB-level rework, including hand soldering and SMT/PTH technology repairs.
  • Write and maintain work procedures, test protocols, and repair documentation.
  • Maintain bill of materials and QA test procedures for all repairs.
  • Review, test, and repair returned products to OEM specifications.
  • Stage, test, and document equipment for deployment.
  • Enter inventory data and maintain accurate records.
  • Research and develop new repair and refurbishment opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Test and repair RF coils and amplifiers.
  • Create, review, and update work instructions, ensuring ISO 13485 compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities you'll need for this opportunity:

  • AS/AA Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in electronic testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • High mechanical aptitude and proven experience with hand tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced office/warehouse setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from technical procedures, business publications, and regulations.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, analyzing information, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Proven ability to solder clean joints and differentiate between good and poor connections.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills even without schematics or full documentation.
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and medical device quality standards (preferred).
