Job summary

Sweetwater in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Pro Audio Repair Technician for our Service Department. The role focuses on component level repair of analog and digital pro audio gear, including keyboards, amplifiers, mixing consoles and digital recorders.

You will work with the Repair Coordinator team to manage repairs and warranty guidelines. A strong background in music technology and ability to read schematics are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience repairing analog and digital professional audio equipment (keyboards, amps, mixing consoles, recorders).
  • Ability to read schematics diagrams.
  • Understanding of basic signal flow in analog audio gear.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Experience with software/OS on Windows and Mac is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy items onto workbench (keyboards, mixing consoles).
  • Music technology background will be assessed during the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Repair Coordinator team on repairs and service management for Sweetwater inventory.
  • Monitor productivity to maximize output and minimize repair costs.

Job Requirements

Sweetwater is seeking a qualified candidate for a Pro Audio Repair Technician position within our Service Department. The ideal candidate will have experience with component level repair for both analog and digital professional audio equipment such as keyboards, power amplifiers, instrument amplifiers, analog mixing consoles, digital mixing consoles and digital recorders, and other music technology hardware sold by Sweetwater. Technicians must also be very familiar with and/or are expected to become proficient in function of all music technology gear that we repair. They will work alongside the Repair Coordinator team for job repairs and service management for repair of Sweetwater inventory while observing productivity to maximize output, efficiency with labor expended in order to minimize repair cost, and different brand specific manufacturer warranty guidelines in order to regulate billing to either manufacturer or customer.

Candidate Must Posses The Following Skills
  • Direct relevant experience repairing electronic audio devices such as speakers, PA systems, Keyboards, mixing consoles, amplifiers and other electronic music technology items
  • Ability to read schematics diagrams
  • Understanding of basic signal flow principles of analog audio equipment
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits
  • Ability to operate diagnostic and test equipment
  • Experience with software and operating systems, preferred for both Windows and Mac
  • Ability to lift heavy items onto work bench such as keyboards and mixing consoles
  • Music technology background is required and will be assessed during the interview process.

This is a full-time position and would require working on-site at our beautiful campus in Fort Wayne, IN.
