Job summary

Air Liquide Newark, DE is seeking a Research Scientist - Electronic materials to drive design, synthesis and characterization of semiconductor materials for advanced electronics. Lead plasma etching gas development, evaluate processes, and deliver analytical methods to support purification and process optimization.

You will collaborate across a global R&D network, publish results, and advance intellectual property while managing multiple projects with a proactive, self-driven mindset.

Qualifications

  • Analytical competency with GC, MS, ICPMS, FTIR, Ellipsometry, XRR, XPS, AES, SEM and related techniques.
  • Experience in design, synthesis, and characterization of electronic materials for semiconductor applications.
  • Ability to work on multi-disciplinary, international teams and publish results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with technical presentation track record.

Responsibilities

  • Etch process & gas design leadership for semiconductor applications.
  • Develop and implement new analytical methods for gas characterization.
  • Structure–property evaluation using in-situ and ex-situ analysis.
  • Design and execute bench- to pilot-scale experiments to meet R&D goals.
  • Conduct literature and patent searches; document patentable findings.
  • Collaborate with global partners to transfer process knowledge.
  • Prepare presentations and technical reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain agility and manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
