Job summary

Rhode Island Judiciary seeks an Electronic Court Reporter to record court proceedings in all four counties, label and store records, and maintain a proceeding log.

Primarily responsible for operating recording equipment, providing playback in open court, and preparing verbatim transcripts or audio copies on request; other duties as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school with courses in typing and/or data processing.
• Knowledge of punctuation, grammar and spelling.
• Knowledge of digital electronic sound recording equipment and ability to operate/monitor.

Must be reliable, detail oriented, able to multitask, operate independently and manage time for production of ordered transcript or copies of audio files.
