Job summary

Badger Meter in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Electronic Controls Technician II to design control panel diagrams, test panels, and perform field installations and troubleshooting. You will work with control systems, PLC integration, and electrical diagnostics to ensure reliable operation.

Responsibilities include creating electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, panel fabrication packages, and field wiring with PLCs, pumps and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in control systems or electrical installation; Experience with water treatment or industrial automation systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and PLCs.

What You Will Contribute:

The Electronic Controls Technician II (ECT II) is responsible for designing control panel diagrams, testing completed panels, and performing complex field installations and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, PLC integration, and electrical diagnostics.

Job Duties:

• Create electrical drawings and wiring diagrams for control panels.


• Submit drawing packages for panel fabrication.


• Test completed control panels to ensure functionality and compliance.


• Install and integrate control panels in the field, including conduit and terminal block wiring.


• Connect and configure PLCs, pumps, and instrumentation.


• Troubleshoot complex issues in the field when remote support is insufficient.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.


• 3+ years of experience in control systems or electrical installation; Experience with water treatment or industrial automation systems is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems.


• Ability to read and create detailed electrical schematics.

• Ability to work independently and travel to field sites.
