Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a 1st Shift Production Assembler in Rochester, MN to assemble small electronic components in a clean, controlled production environment. You will read detailed work orders, use hand and power tools, and apply basic computer skills to access instructions and record data.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely output, with a contract-to-hire path and a starting pay of $18.00 per hour. Onsite only, with multiple benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 6 months using hand tools in a production or similar environment.
  • Ability to pass Benchmark Testing with a minimum score of 70% and Reading Comprehension tested at 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small electronic parts and components according to detailed work orders.
  • Read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and written instructions with strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.
  • Perform general production and assembly duties, including machine operation, packaging, inspection, and packing as needed.
  • Operate production machinery and equipment following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect assembled units and components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Package and prepare finished products for the next stage of production or shipment.
  • Use basic computer skills to access work orders, record production data, and follow electronic instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with facility standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of ESD equipment and smocks, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Job Title: 1st Shift Production Assembler

This role focuses on assembling small electronic components for a variety of manufactured units in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. You read and follow detailed work orders, use hand and power tools, and apply basic computer skills to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.

Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience using hand tools in a production or similar environment.
  • At least 6 months of basic computer skills, which may be verified through peer references if not documented in work history.
  • Ability to pass Benchmark Testing with a minimum score of 70%.
  • Ability to achieve 100% on Reading Comprehension testing.
  • Strong reading comprehension to accurately follow work orders and written instructions.
  • Experience in general production and assembly work.
  • Ability to perform machine operation tasks safely and consistently.
  • Capability to handle packaging, packing, and inspection duties with attention to quality.
  • Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and performance expectations.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
