Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN invites qualified candidates to join the Neurodiagnostic Lab as a technician responsible for setup and preparation of equipment for ordered tests, including EEG, EP and PSG procedures.

You will review patient history, educate patients about procedures, monitor conditions, document results and report adverse reactions, while meeting licensure requirements such as BLS and ABRET credentialing within two years.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• ABRET credentialing within 24 months of hire date.
• Experience with EEG/EP/PSG procedures is preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform setup and preparation of equipment/supplies for ordered test.
• Review the patient's history, obtain any necessary information or documentation, and provide education to the patient about procedures. Monitor and document the patient's condition at all times and report any adverse reactions.
• Operate and maintain a variety of equipment to obtain diagnostic data, which may include EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potential), and PSG (Polysomnography) equipment. Recognize and correct for artifacts.
• Score/graph, document and report results of diagnostic procedures.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Technologist specializing in Neurophysiologic Intraop Monit credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Technologist specializing in Evoked Potential credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Tech specializing in Nerve Conduction Study obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program
• At least one year of experience preferred
