Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services, a century-old family-owned metal fabrication partner in Greensboro, NC, seeks a maintenance technician to keep production moving by diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues across industrial equipment.

The role includes preventive maintenance, welding, wiring assembly, and PLC/VFD programming, with attention to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail and basic critical thinking skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and assist with repairs on advanced processing equipment, CNC, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate test equipment and hand tools.
• Fabricate and install mechanical parts; conduct rigging and other maintenance tasks.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures using hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
• Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components.
• Program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and PLC systems.
• Safely perform welding and oxyacetylene torch work.
• Calculate layouts, perform balancing, and align equipment.
• Maintain electrical installations to applicable country, state, and federal codes.
• Use or fabricate mechanical components (fittings, valves, etc.) from cold rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural members, and other metals.
• Deliver error-free work and adhere to standardized processes supporting safety and quality programs.
• Keep work area clean and organized; work under direct supervision; perform other duties as assigned.
