Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a steel processing environment. The role requires reading blueprints or schematics and performing preventive maintenance on drives, motors, and conveyors.

You will join a safety‑driven facility with a 1 TEAM culture, read technical orders, and work to minimize downtime while improving equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-phase electrical experience and a strong mechanical background.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine assembly methods.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment; perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Locate sources of problems by observing equipment in operation and using measurement tools.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Determine changes in part dimensions by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and rules.
• Adjust functional parts of devices using hand tools and alignment tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
