Job summary

Areté is seeking an Electrical Engineer to advance electromechanical systems, focusing on high-performance motion control, sensors, embedded electronics, and cross-disciplinary integration. You will drive projects from concept through verification and delivery in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

The role is full-time, exempt, based in Healdsburg, CA, with responsibilities spanning requirements definition, design reviews, testing, and manufacturing transition.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
• Experience leading or coordinating multi-discipline engineering work
• Ability to translate requirements into executable plans, manage schedules
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eligible for government security investigation and access to classified information

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate engineering activities for complex electromechanical systems
• Define requirements, interfaces, test approaches, and execution plans
• Support design trade studies on motors, encoders, sensors, and drives
• Coordinate prototype development, integration, testing and qualification
• Identify risks and communicate status to leadership
• Review designs, test data, failures, and corrective actions
• Assist with production transition including manufacturability and supplier coordination
