Job summary

MIKEL is seeking an Electromechanical Designer/Engineer to join our Middletown, RI team. You will design and document electro-mechanical systems from concept through deployment, and work closely with engineers, suppliers, and Navy staff to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires SolidWorks, OrCAD, PCB and cable harness expertise, with 5+ years in a regulated industry and a preference for defense-related experience. Some on-site presence at multiple RI/MA locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in design/drafting/electronics in a regulated environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering preferred.
• Experience with Navy DoD projects and NAVSEA processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and document electro-mechanical systems from concept to deployment.
• Evaluate weight, size, cost, and manufacturability of components.
• Develop PCB electronics, circuit diagrams and wiring harnesses.
• Create 3D models and drawings; support NAVSEA configuration control.
