Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to design, test, and optimize power generation and control systems. You will support diesel and natural gas generators, develop specs, and configure SCADA systems for remote monitoring.

You’ll work with engineering, operations, maintenance, and vendors to ensure safe, reliable performance across projects. The role requires 3–5 years in industrial power systems, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to travel to customer sites as

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience with industrial or commercial power generation systems.
  • Experience with diesel or natural gas generators, switchgear, ATS, and generator controls.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, industrial networking, and remote monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and support generator systems for commercial/industrial use.
  • Develop electrical and mechanical specifications for generator packages and components.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA systems for monitoring and control.
  • Coordinate SCADA communications using Modbus, DNP3, OPC, or Ethernet/IP.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, and control logic.
  • Perform equipment sizing, load calculations, and performance analysis.
  • Develop maintenance strategies for power and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
  • Coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to complete projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and commissioning documentation.
