Job description

Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

We are looking for an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to stay within the dynamic environment of Charter Casting. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting electromechanical equipment and ensuring production lines run smoothly.

Location: 2900 E Richmond St, Shawano, WI 54166

Shifts: Weekend Shift Days (7am-7pm, Friday-Sunday), Weekend Shift Nights (7pm-7am, Friday-Sunday), 2nd Shift (2pm-12am, Monday-Thursday), 3rd Shift (9pm-7am, Monday-Thursday)

Pay: Starting $36/hr ($75,000/year) with potential increase based on experience. $5,000 hiring bonus after 90 days. Pay schedule: Weekly.

Responsibilities
  • Problem solve, troubleshoot, modify, adjust, and correct electromechanical issues and equipment.
  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance (PMs) on electromechanical equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections to determine startup problems.
  • Verify part dimensions conform to provided specifications.
  • Repair and calibrate pneumatic assemblies.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose issues with sophisticated control systems and employ tactics to resolve them effectively.
  • Maintain knowledge of drawings, blueprints, schematics, and inspection manuals.
  • Fabricate replacements for temporary fixes.
  • Maintain parts and equipment inventory by properly checking parts in and out of the CMMS.
  • Support Electromechanical Technician I team members in the execution of the electromechanical technician learning program.
  • Actively provide improvement ideas to the electromechanical technician learning program.
  • Ensure all control systems of the production lines are operating according to procedures and minimize production downtime.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot facility HVAC systems.
  • Update wiring on systems, equipment, machines, and other apparatus; wire new systems, equipment, machines, and apparatus.
  • Ensure all electromechanical systems, equipment, machines, and other apparatus are safe for operation.
  • Utilize lean principles and tools to troubleshoot, countermeasure, and improve processes and equipment.
  • Follow all plant safety rules, including lockout/tagout, using appropriate safety equipment, and awareness of the safety of others.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (free GED program available).
  • Accredited electrical apprenticeship or two years technical training with two-plus years industrial electromechanical experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience reading and interpreting complex documents such as wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, instructions, safety rules, code books, and specifications.
  • Ability to inspect electrical systems, equipment, and machines for possible problems.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of drives, controls, motion controllers, PLCs, and/or motors.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with electrical codes and regulations, electronic controls and devices, electrical/electronic theory.
  • Experience operating electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of metalworking, hand, and power equipment.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment and welding/torch equipment.
  • Strong math skills (fractions, percentages, geometry, probability).
  • Ability to read and understand technical procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other employees.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills; knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, bending.
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to Have
  • Journeyman's card.
  • Experience in foundry or metals.
  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs and drives.
  • Proven expertise in AC/DC motor maintenance, HVAC certification or maintenance experience.
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics & pneumatics expertise.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
