Job summary

Charter Wire is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work with electromechanical systems and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial maintenance or related technical education and can read complex electrical schematics. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing skills development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience or a technical degree in a related field or journeyman's card.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and code books.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and codes.
• Experience with line setups, inspections, and electrical testing equipment.
• Solid math skills (fractions, percentages, measurements).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electromechanical equipment using hand tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve issues using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep production running efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development.

• Location: Charter Wire - 7850 N. 81st Street, Milwaukee, WI 53222
• Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday-Friday
• Excellent Pay $40+ based on experience + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations

What You'll Need

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR technical degree in a related field OR journeyman's card (Less experience may be considered at a different level)
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and code books
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and codes
• Experience with line setups, inspections, and electrical testing equipment
• Solid math skills (fractions, percentages, measurements)

Nice to Have

• Experience with PLCs and drives (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
• Knowledge of AC/DC motors, HVAC systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Experience with welding/torch equipment and precision measuring tools
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking
• Occasional sitting, reaching, and forceful motion
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly
• Minimal climbing and occasional lifting over 100 lbs
• Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation
