Electromechanical Maintenance Technician

As an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician at MEC, you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance activities across multiple sites, primarily in Mayville. You will perform routine maintenance, work on plant equipment, and install/repair equipment and components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining workcenters.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Modify programming of robots and related equipment such as robot controllers and programmable controllers.
- Install equipment, components, and systems, with or without outside services.
- Plan, build, and install new machinery at an engineering level.
- Advise manufacturing on suggestions to optimize production and minimize downtime and scrap.
- Recognize safety hazards on equipment and in the plant and initiate corrective actions.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all safety rules in the facility.
- Perform and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Requisition and maintain a supply of spare parts, with knowledge of proper purchasing procedures.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
- Interpret electrical and mechanical sketches, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable electrical codes in a manufacturing environment.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Perform duties and responsibilities of lower maintenance classifications as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis on electrical training, or five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journeyman electrician certification is preferred but not required.
- Valid Forklift License or ability to obtain one.
