Job summary

Cibes Symmetry in Roanoke, IL is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical systems. You will read schematics, perform repairs on bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics, and ensure safety protocols with LOTO.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance/mechanics.
  • Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Fluency with manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable using a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime across mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Diagnose electrical faults in motors, sensors, control panels, VFDs, and low- to medium-voltage circuits.
  • Use electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to plan and complete repairs.
  • Follow LOTO and all safety protocols; keep work areas neat and organized.
  • Install, align, and commission new or rebuilt components and control devices.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings in work orders/maintenance systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and teammates to share equipment status and improvement ideas.
  • PM routes: lubrication, filter swaps, and system checks.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Assist with facility upkeep and repairs as needed.
  • Participate in training and cross-training; take on other duties as assigned.

What You Bring Minimum Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance/mechanics.
  • Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Fluency with manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable using a wide range of hand and power tools.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Supervisory Scope

No direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing/production setting with frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Long periods on your feet; strong hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Hands-on use of hand and power tools; typical manufacturing noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to heat or cold; working near moving machinery and mechanical parts.
