Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our Texas facility. You will repair, maintain, and rebuild production equipment, troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while following safety protocols.

Responsibilities include coordinating with production to minimize downtime, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with new equipment installations. Strong diagnostic and electrical skills are required; knowledge of PLCs is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and perform repairs.
  • Own and use maintenance tools, including 480-volt equipment.
  • Install, assemble, test new machines and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, and rebuild production equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance with production to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly and safely.
  • Perform preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assist with new equipment installation and project scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and document work in Fiix CMMS.
  • Read electrical schematics and machine manuals; interpret blueprints.

Job description

Maintenance technicians provide technical support, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and rebuild machines, perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned, and respond to breakdowns professionally and on time while following all safety protocols. Working knowledge of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems.

Position Responsibilities May Include
  • Repair, maintain, and rebuild all production equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Coordinate maintenance processes with the production department in a way in which the production output and packaging are least affected
  • Respond to calls from production and management to make repairs
  • Perform established preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation
  • Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects
  • Maintain accurate and complete departmental records
  • Record all work in Fiix CMMS
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints/schematics
  • Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain good 6S housekeeping standards
  • Work with contractors as needed
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete repairs
  • Must have own and work with maintenance tools, including 480-volt and 3-phase electric voltmeter
  • Ability to install, assemble, and test new machines and equipment
  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
  • Ability to monitor, identify, and correct signs of malfunctions
  • Ability to read an electrical schematic
  • Knowledge of how to use a Megger
  • Ability to change and program new drives
  • Repair and test motors, starters, PLCs, and controls
  • Ability to perform minor electrical repairs
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
  • Able to program and fix faults utilizing a laptop
  • Able to troubleshoot, find, and correct issues
  • Good working knowledge of Siemens PLC systems
  • Able to PM equipment in assigned area
  • Ability to review and improve current PM processes
  • Able to lead a die improvement Kaizen
  • Able to assist and guide LOTO procedures
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Able to identify safety hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Ability to perform alignment of belts, chains, and shafts
  • Ability to replace bearings and leadscrews
  • Able to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Read and comply with work orders
  • Have basic electrical skills and knowledge
  • Able to install and repair light curtains and scanners so they function properly
  • Able to perform minor electrical repairs on production equipment such as frayed cords, switches, and sensors
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job
Experience

3–5 years of experience in:

  • Industrial maintenance
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches, and electric motors
  • PLC systems, preferably Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Direct Logic
Education/Certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are a plus, preferred but not mandatory

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic. May have higher noise volume in areas – hearing protection required. Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs. May need to lift up to 40lbs.
