Job summary

Critical Loop is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Product Development team and support the build, integration, and testing of next-generation energy hardware.

This is a hands-on role that moves between the shop floor and the test environment. You’ll wire prototype systems, set up development tests, troubleshoot with engineers, and help turn early designs into repeatable, high-quality builds.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Engineering Technician or similar hands-on role.
  • Experience building/testing precision electromechanical hardware in energy/BESS or related industries.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GD&T, BOMs and work instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with precision assembly and electrical harnessing including torque specs and crimps.

Responsibilities

  • Build, wire, and assemble prototype electromechanical skids, control cabinets, switchgear, and subassemblies from drawings and work orders.
  • Perform HV/LV wire routing, harnessing, crimping, terminations, connectors, routing, labeling, and fasteners.
  • Set up and operate bench and HIL test equipment including inverters, load banks, DAQ systems, sensors, oscilloscopes, meters.
  • Execute development and validation testing and capture traceable test data for engineering.
  • Read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, GD&T, BOMs.
  • Identify build/test issues and work with engineering to determine root causes.
  • Verify and redline drawings based on build/test experience.
  • Document nonconformances and provide feedback to improve designs and processes.
