Job summary
Veterans Prime, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Electromechanical for a full-time, travel-based role. You will work independently from your home base, providing expert support for electromechanical CNC equipment.
The position emphasizes troubleshooting, installation, on-site training, and thorough documentation, with regional travel and overnight stays. Training is provided for electromechanical troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- 2-year technical degree (mechanical, electrical, or machine tool technology) or equivalent military technical experience.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment; PLC knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read engineering drawings/schematics and use diagnostic tools.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot & Repair: diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and hydraulic/pneumatic issues on CNC machinery.
- Install & Test: perform post-installation testing for optimal machine performance.
- Train & Educate: conduct on-site training for customer operators on machine function, maintenance, and safety.
- Document: accurately log service activity, diagnostics, parts, and resolutions.
- Travel: manage a regional travel schedule with regular overnight stays to support customer sites.
