Scalables is a small lab-automation company in Branford. We make Daisy: compact, plug-and-play modules — pumps, valves, and motion stages, each about the size of a coffee mug — that chain together so a lab can automate an experiment without a six-figure robot. Our customers are university and research labs, biotech startups, and STEM classrooms.
Everything we ship is built here by hand, in small batches. This role helps build it.
We're hiring an entry-level assembler. No prior experience required — we'll train you on our tools, parts, and process. You'll build and check out the modules that go to customers, working alongside the people who designed them.
Most new assemblers pick up the basics in a few days and are fully up to speed within a few months. Because we're a small shop, the job isn't only assembly — you'll also run our 3D printers and laser etcher. It's a good start if you're detail-oriented, good with your hands, and want real skills in mechanical and electrical fabrication.
$25.00 per hour, about 10 hours per week to start, with the option to increase.
Scalables is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal or Connecticut law.
