Job summary

Scalables is hiring an entry-level assembler in Branford, CT to build and check out modular Daisy units and to run 3D printers and a laser etcher. No prior assembly experience is required; we will train you on our tools, parts, and process.

Most new assemblers pick up the basics in a few days and are fully up to speed within a few months. You will work with a small team to gain real hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical fabrication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior assembly experience; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to follow written procedures accurately.
• Reliability and willingness to ask for clarification.
• Willingness to wear PPE each shift.

Responsibilities

• Follow step-by-step instructions, drawings, and diagrams to assemble modules in sequence.
• Fit and fasten small parts into machined aluminum enclosures using hand and power tools.
• Install control boards, connect wiring, and route tubing and fittings to spec.
• Mark and finish parts on the laser etcher, after safety training.
• Check parts against tolerance with calipers and micrometers.
• Run finished modules through function checks and flag anything that seems off.
• Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies.
• Label modules with serial numbers so units stay traceable.
• Keep your bench, tools, and bins organized and safe.
• Take on more of the build as you gain experience.
