Job summary

Instron is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen the product R&D group in Norwood, MA. You will design mechanisms and full systems, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and vendors to meet schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with 3-6 years of experience.
  • Experience in machine design including mechanisms, packaging, and manufacturability.
  • Proficiency with CAD/FEA software such as SolidWorks and GD&T basics.
  • Knowledge of machining, sheet metal, casting, molding, 3D printing and assembly.
  • Ability to refine concepts from customer feedback and collaborate across functions.
  • Familiarity with design verification/testing and data analysis.
  • Understanding of related electrical/firmware/software disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electromechanical products from concept to release.
  • Lead design projects, build and test components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with marketing, manufacturing and service to meet requirements.
  • Set up tests, collect data, analyze results and document findings.
