Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a manufacturing technician to assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies for medical devices by following approved procedures, BOMs, and work orders, recording outcomes on check sheets and production reports.

You will perform soldering, crimping, bonding, and testing with small tools, maintain instrument calibration, uphold GMP standards, keep a hazard-free workspace, and collaborate with engineers to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
• Background assembling, testing, and documenting mechanical and electrical devices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies using small hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Inspect in-process work, flag quality or operational issues, and communicate with leads.
• Record outcomes on check sheets and production reports, ensuring documentation is complete.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace; follow safety procedures and participate in trainings.
• Collaborate with Engineers and line leads to refine procedures for quality and efficiency.

What your day looks likeYou move from a neatly organized bench to a test station, assembling plastic and metal components into finished medical devices by following approved manufacturing procedures. You check the Bill of Materials and assembly drawings, confirm the work order, and reference visual aids and product flow charts before you begin. Throughout the day, you record outcomes on check sheets and production reports, ensuring every result is documented.How you workBuild and test mechanical and electrical subassemblies using small hand tools (manual and electric), manual presses, assembly fixtures, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.Perform, as needed, soldering, fabricating, crimping, mechanical assembly, sealing, ultrasonic welding, and bonding/gluing with adhesives such as Epoxy or RTV.Kit assemblies by following a parts list and using a scanner with inventory software.Complete routine start-up and end-of-day verifications or equipment inspections.Inspect your work in-process, flag any quality or operational issues, and communicate promptly with the appropriate leader.Keep a clean, orderly, and hazard-free workspace; participate in safety programs, meetings, and required trainings; elevate safety concerns to management.Contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement activities.Meet quality, quantity, and Good Manufacturing Practice expectations to satisfy customer and Regulatory Affairs requirements; read and follow operating procedures for all trained products.Maintain vigilance for any nonconforming condition and notify your supervisor immediately.Collaborate with Engineers and line leads to resolve issues and refine procedures for quality and efficiency.Accurately maintain records for quality, work in progress, test results, labor (including timecards), and special projects.Adhere to safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies, and ISO, QSR, and FDA regulations.Your toolkitProficiency with tweezers, torque drivers, magnifiers, and microscopes for small-parts assembly.Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.What you bringApproximately 2 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.Background assembling, testing, and documenting mechanical and electrical devices.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Adaptability and willingness to take on varied tasks in a dynamic environment.Preferred: experience in medical device manufacturing.Preferred: familiarity with medical device regulatory procedures, lean manufacturing, and core manufacturing processes.
