Job description

What we do...

HindlePower has been designing and manufacturing industrial battery chargers and DC power systems for the utility industry for over 35 years. Our products serve power generation and distribution, substations, switchgear OEMs, oil and gas, and transportation maintenance facilities. We are the leader in our industry, with customers in all 50 states and around the world.

This role is on our Advanced Integrations team, the fastest growing part of our business. We take our own chargers, DC distribution panels, and other custom DC products and build them into complete engineered systems: battery cabinets, battery boxes, battery houses, and mobile power trailers. They go into utilities, data centers, and large industrial sites, and no two orders are quite the same.

What you\'ll do...

As an Electromechanical Assembler, you\'ll be a part of our Advanced Integrations production team. You\'ll build complete power systems, starting from an empty enclosure and finishing with something that ships to a substation or a data center. This is mechanical and electrical work and you\'ll do both. There\'s a range of work on the floor and where you start depends on your strengths and where we need you.

Depending on where you land, the hands-on skills you\'ll use include:

  • Mounting and securing chargers, breakers, batteries, and distribution components inside cabinets and enclosures

  • Routing, terminating, and landing wire to print

  • Torquing connections to spec and documenting it

  • Assembling enclosures, frames, and structural components with hand and power tools

  • Fitting and installing doors, panels, hardware, and finishing components

  • Working from mechanical drawings on larger systems, including houses and trailers

You don\'t need to walk in knowing any of these. We train them, and most people end up learning more than one.

In this role:

  • Work on your feet, moving around a system rather than sitting at a bench

  • Start on one type of build and pick up others over time. Most people here can run several, and that\'s how it should be.

  • Read job travelers, mechanical drawings, and electrical prints and build to spec

  • Catch problems before they move downstream. Checking your own work is part of the work here, not somebody else\'s job later.

  • Tell us when you see a better way to do something. We\'re serious about this. A lot of how we build today came from someone on the floor saying there was a better way.

What you bring...

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools

  • Strong attention to detail. Our systems go into substations and data centers, and there is no acceptable margin for a bad connection.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Assembly, electrical, construction, or trade experience is a plus. It is not required.

Where this goes...

We run a certification program for our production employees. It has defined levels, each with a pay increase attached, and you will know exactly what it takes to reach the next one. We promote from within whenever we can.
