Job summary

QPS Employment Group is assisting a Lakewood, CO employer in recruiting an Electromechanical Assembler for a contract position starting August 31, located in Lakewood, CO.

The role involves assembling, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies with GMP compliance on the manufacturing floor. Shift is 1st, 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays; wage is $22.50/hour and there is potential to hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical background preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for operating automated equipment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; read tables and charts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with testing, calibration, and soldering using specialized tools.
  • GMP compliance awareness on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of processes, training, safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Assembles, tests, troubleshoots, calibrates and packages sub-assemblies.
  • Applies knowledge to comply with GMP on the manufacturing floor.
  • Maintains monthly production schedule and supports problem solving.
  • Performs area setup, documentation, and regulatory record keeping.
  • Performs quality control checks on finished products and labels.
  • Works with engineers and leaders on process improvements.
  • Ensures efficient material loading/unloading at the station.

Job description

Position Title: Electromechanical Assembler

Wage: $22.50/hour


Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday, Some Saturdays)


Duration: This is a contract position beginning August 31 and running through the end of the year. Upon successful completion, associates are welcome to apply for long-term roles.

Electromechanical Assembler Responsibilities


  • Takes ownership over all aspects of processes and procedures including training, safety, quality, and efficiencies

  • Applies technique and quality criteria for use of specialized tools and test equipment

  • Assembles, tests, troubleshoots, calibrates and packages highly complex mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies

  • Applies extensive knowledge to adhere to GMP compliance on the manufacturing floor

  • Identifies potential issues that may impact production schedules and is a key contributor in formulating the response to maintain those schedules

  • Detects non-conforming product and dispositions according to company procedure

  • Executes and maintains monthly production schedule

  • Works with and assists engineers, leadership, buyers, planners, material handlers and technicians in problem solving of quality and safety, production process, and raw material issues including prototyping, specialty builds, validations and implementing new materials, designs, maintenance and process improvements

  • Performs area clearance and setup of work stations

  • Performs documentation and regulatory record keeping as defined in the standard operating procedures for manufacturing. This includes but not limited to device history records, work order generation and product labels

  • Provides and receive constructive work direction and feedback without shutting down communication among team members

  • Performs quality control checks on finished products and documentation prior to release. This includes processing and packaging returned goods from customers/vendors and finished goods inventory

  • Ensures efficiency of material loading and unloading for work station

  • Conducts thorough practices with inspecting, packaging, and labeling of product

  • Applies technique and quality criteria for soldering as well as use of specialized tools and test equipment


Requirements for Electromechanical Assembler


  • High school diploma or GED; technical background is preferred

  • At least two years of related experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols required for operating automated and semi-automated equipment

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions; reason through mathematical word problems; and read tables, scales, graphs, and charts quickly and accurately

  • Understanding usage of the English language; good understanding of words used in business and regulatory environments

  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing operating procedures that apply to technical, automated, semi-automated operating systems as well as assembling, testing, and packaging of mechanical and electronic subassemblies and packaging of electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques

  • Understanding of mechanical principles and analysis of mechanical movement

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong team cooperation and ability to prioritize workload to meet schedule requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic subassemblies and electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques

  • Ability to continue learning and increase competency in specialty tools such as digital volt meters (DVM), torque wrenches, etc.
