Job summary
Nexteer Automotive seeks an Electromagnetic Engineer to advance high power/torque density electric motor systems for vehicle electrification. You will model, analyze, and verify electromagnetics across motors, actuators and sensors, coordinating with multiple teams to drive the technology roadmap from research through production.

Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of brushless machines (PM, SRM, IM)
- Experience with electromagnetic FEA, modeling, sizing, calibration
- Experience in electric machines, inverters, and battery systems for vehicle use
- Strong computing/math skills, and familiarity with simulation tools
- Background in automotive engineering and chassis systems
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Perform electromagnetic analysis, modeling and design of electric machines and sensors.
- Test and validate motors and sensors against system requirements.
- Improve loss minimization and NVH performance.
- Develop system and subsystem specifications and ensure traceability.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects on electric motors with teams.
- Enforce technology development process from research to production.
- Calibrate and validate motor requirements and diagnose deficiencies.
- Integrate design aspects across disciplines.
- Stay updated on electric motor tech trends.
- Provide technical leadership for complex electromechanical systems.
- Travel between Auburn Hills and Saginaw facilities.
