Job summary

Solid Power is seeking an Electrolyte R&D Scientist I/II to join a dynamic team advancing next generation all solid‑state rechargeable batteries. The role focuses on development and modification of solid‑state electrolytes with senior scientists, performing synthesis, characterization, and data analysis in a safe, fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities include executing planned experiments, reporting results, and maintaining lab safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree.
• Experience in an academic or industrial lab environment.
• Comfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment.
• Experience in material characterization techniques (XRD, EIS, FTIR, DSC/TGA, Raman, SEM/EDS).
• Experience in synthetic chemistry.
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and relevant software.
• Knowledge of Li-ion battery materials optimization and synthesis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and under the direction of senior scientists to execute planned experimentation aimed at modifications and improvements to solid‑state electrolytes.
• Performs material synthesis, characterization, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Communicate results and roadblocks to the broader team.
• Perform regular and required housekeeping such as lab and glassware cleaning.
• Always follow all facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations, ensuring safe handling and proper disposal of hazardous materials and equipment.
