Job summary

MLT Systems in Stafford, Virginia is seeking a highly experienced test/engineering professional to advance electro-optical systems. You will test a broad range of optical, laser, and thermal systems, conduct troubleshooting, and develop robust test methods and SOPs.

You will lead analyses of test results, manage equipment, and contribute to program planning and R&D efforts while ensuring secure, compliant operations in a government-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with ten years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and testing systems that combine electronics with optics.
  • Hold a current Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Test a broad range of optical systems including day optics, image intensification, laser, and thermal systems.
  • Conduct electro-optical system testing, surveillance, troubleshooting, maintenance, and maintenance management; develop test plans and methods; upkeep equipment.
  • Maintain inventory control and proper accountability documentation of all equipment.
  • Provide technical analysis of test results and testing data; support government shipping of equipment and ensure SOPs are maintained.

Job Description


  • Test a broad range of optical systems to include day optical systems, Image intensification systems, laser systems, and thermal systems.

  • Conduct electro-optical system testing, surveillance, troubleshooting, maintenance, maintenance management, test plan development, test method development, and test equipment upkeep.

  • Maintain inventory control and proper accountability documentation of all equipment.

  • Provide technical analysis of test results, process testing data, participate in limited user evaluations, support government shipping of equipment to and from the EOSF, and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the EOSF are maintained and followed.

  • Will apply best industry practices and standards, leading-edge technology, and innovative solutions to intractable problems.

  • Defines key concepts for planning, deployment, integration, operation and/or enhancement of state-of-the-art and/or legacy systems.

  • Develops and applies highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Employs methodologies for guiding others in problem resolution.

  • Develops and/or reviews study plans and monitors/reports project status.

  • Functions independently to resolve problems; manages, leads and advises staff members in order to meet established objectives; plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long range program objectives.

  • Develops insightful solutions to meet fiscal, technological and schedule constraints.

  • Possesses unique experience, skills, and expert knowledge in highly specialized technical, functional, and/or process areas within the related discipline.


Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) years of relevant experience.
