Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) invites undergraduate and graduate students to join a summer internship in Calibration and Test Engineering within the Strategic Military Space Division. You will support optical system characterization, calibration, and testing of next-generation space sensor payloads, with mentorship from experienced engineers and hands-on lab work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for multidimensional array manipulation, image processing, and automated image reduction/analysis pipelines.
• Familiarity with optical alignment, benchtop testing, or laboratory procedures through coursework or projects.
• Core understanding of visible and/or infrared radiometry principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in laboratory characterization and TVAC testing of flight camera hardware.
• Perform data collection, reduction, and analysis for sensor payloads.
• Contribute to documentation and reporting of test results.
