Job summary

RTX invites applications for an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer intern to support the Advanced Products & Solutions Mission Area in developing advanced electro-optical systems. You will join a design team building imagers, EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy systems, contributing to requirements and verification activities.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a STEM degree with coursework in optics, MATLAB, and programming in C++/Python, and have strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a STEM degree and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Experience with EO infrared imagery, focal plane tech, lenses or apertures.
• Understanding optical principles and imaging systems.
• Hands-on coursework or lab work with optical testing or alignment.
• Minimum 60 credit hours by start date.

Responsibilities

• Support design of electro-optical systems, assess requirements, and assist IV&V planning.
• Collaborate with design team to build and verify EOS components.
