Job summary

Raytheon Technologies Corporation invites talented students to join the Electro Optical Systems Engineer Intern team. You will help design and build advanced electro-optical systems, including imagers and EO tracking, while contributing to requirements development and subsystem design.

This role supports the EOSD department within RTX’s Space and Airborne Systems, offering hands-on experience in verification, test planning, and systems engineering in a real-world defense environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS or MS/PhD in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or Math and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Minimum 30 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
• Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses, or apertures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and build advanced electro-optical systems including imagers, EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy systems.
• Assess system architecture and derive design and performance requirements for subsystems.
• Support IV&V planning and verification/test activities.
