Job summary

SAIC in Middletown, RI seeks an Engineering Technician to fabricate and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical systems. You will work from schematics and layouts, update documentation, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Technical education or training in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience building electro-mechanical systems, cables, and harnesses.
  • Ability to read all relative technical documentation including drawings and wire diagrams.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic fabrication is a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate electronic / electro-mechanical test equipment.
  • Fabricate wire cables and harnesses.
  • Inspect, test, and qualify systems and sub-assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot issues to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Manage the accuracy of technical documentation with the engineering team.
  • Communicate with the engineering support team and customers to resolve system design and functionality issues.
