Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Electrical/Mechanical Technician (TSA III) at Pickle Research Campus to support fabrication, maintenance, and testing of advanced electro-mechanical systems. You will assemble prototype and production units, build acoustic arrays, and coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure high-quality results.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in related assembly or maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience with assembly, fabrication, testing, maintenance, or repair of electrical/elect mechanical equipment.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and records.
• Proficient math including fractions, measurements, area, perimeter, rounding.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, prototype, and produce electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Evaluate and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Construct and encapsulate acoustic arrays and cables.
• Interpret and apply instructions, schematics, and drawings.
• Manage part procurement, vendor coordination, and quality control.
• Perform routine data entry to support tracking and logistics.
• Maintain documentation for QA and assembly processes.
• Other related functions as assigned.
