Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for an Electrical/Mechanical Technician (TSA III) at the Pickle Research Campus. The role supports fabrication, maintenance, and testing of electro-mechanical systems, including prototype units and acoustic arrays, in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include assembling electro-mechanical assemblies, evaluating equipment, coordinating parts, and maintaining QA documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience assembling, fabricating, testing, maintaining, or repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical equipment using hand and power tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and records.
• Strong math skills including fractions, measurements, and basic arithmetic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, prototype, and produce electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Evaluate and repair specialized electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Construct and encapsulate acoustic arrays and cables.
• Interpret and apply schematics and technical drawings.
• Manage part procurement, vendor coordination, and quality control.
