Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and install advanced production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical systems, and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.

Candidates should be experienced with PLCs, VFDs, hydraulics and pneumatics, and able to read schematics and manuals. The work environment includes heat, noise, chemicals, and potential weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, relays) and troubleshooting.
• Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting).
• Experience with product manuals and reading schematics to perform repairs.
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and diagnostics.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs (computerized charts/data).
• Experience working in team-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on advanced production equipment.
• Perform repairs on advanced production equipment as needed.
• Perform breakdown analysis and determine root causes.
• Upgrade production lines with new equipment or technology.
• Direct activities of outside contractors on assigned lines.
• Change lines for package changeovers.
• Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards.
• Work independently under limited supervision and document tasks completed.
