Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and install advanced production equipment in Johnstown. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, complex repairs, and mentoring junior mechanics.

The role requires reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and coordinating with outside contractors. You will work in a high-heat, noisy environment with potential weekend/holiday shifts, and must have your own hand tools.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas
• Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
• Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
• Experience with product manuals (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
• Experience with schematics (electrical blueprints, relays, maps)
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
• Experience with reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on advanced production equipment
• Repair and upgrade production lines with new equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform complex repairs
• Oversee or perform general housekeeping
• Direct activities of outside contractors on the line
• Change lines for package changeovers
• Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards
• Work independently under limited supervision
• Document work schedules and tasks completed
