Job summary

Dematic in Beech Island, SC is seeking an Electrical Mechanical Technician 3 with 4+ years in industrial maintenance. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on material handling equipment. The role requires handling schematics, panel drawings, PLCs, and HMIs.

Shift is rotating (7:00am-7:30pm / 7:00pm-7:30am) with overtime as needed. Base pay range is $28.00-$33.50 hourly; final compensation depends on location, education, and experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years in industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with PLC communications, equipment management software; familiar with HMIs and schematics.
  • Able to read and interpret panel drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
  • Complete preventive maintenance routines and documentation.
  • Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot circuitry.
  • Create and close work orders in asset management system with labor hours and parts used.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve semi-complex problems and locate spare parts.

Job description

Dematic has an immediate need for an Electrical Mechanical Technician 3 in Beech Island SC. Candidates will have a minimum of 4+ years' experience in Industrial maintenance, preventative maintenance, Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting, problem solving. Qualified candidates are proficient in PLC communications, Equipment Management Software. Familiar with schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs and HMIs, and implementation and commissioning of engineering design projects. Acts as a material handling technician on all equipment that is installed. This is a rotating shift working Sunday through Saturday, Front Shift 7:00am -7:30pm, Back Shift 7:00pm-7:30 am. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $28.00 - $33.50 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will Do In This Role
  • Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
  • Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.
  • Create and close work orders into asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.
  • Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
  • Performs routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
  • Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organizations.
What We Are Looking For
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
  • 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Proven experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
  • Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
