Job summary

Dematic Corp. is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Tech Level IV to resolve faults, troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive/predictive maintenance, and oversee shift operations for conveyers, SRMs, and AGV/AMR systems at the Fishkill location.

The role requires 2–3 years of electro-mechanical experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and proficiency with PLCs and MS Office/G-Suite. Work is on a 4x10 night shift (6:00 pm–4:30 am) with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or vocational training is advantageous.
• 2–3 years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Proven experience in the role and responsibilities described.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, adjustments, replacements and lubrication.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot circuitry.
• Build and close work orders with detailed data (labor, maintenance, parts).
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and source needed resources.
• Locate and supervise spare parts from inventory.
• Perform routine maintenance and equipment testing to meet specifications.
• Respond to service calls and address equipment faults.
• Identify problems and take corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships across the organization.
• Perform installation/adjustments on PLCs, sensors using vendors' controls software.

Job description

The Electro-Mechanical Tech Level IV is responsible for the day-to-day fault resolution, equipment troubleshooting, preventative/predictive maintenance, and systems operations. Aids and mentors lower-level employees. Acts as Senior Automation technician on shift for Pallet and Packaging conveyors, SRM Cranes, Dematic Multi-Shuttle, AGV and AMR. Also works on other ancillary equipment that is installed at our Fishkill location. Workdays consist of working (4) 10-hour days either Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday. The shift is night shift, working 6:00 pm to 4:30 am. Overtime may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be$38to $40an hourat the time of posting. Final compensation willbedeterminedbyvarious factorssuch as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Respond to service calls and address equipment failures and faults.
• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to tackle them.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Perform installation/adjustments on PLCs, sensors, etc. using controls software from various vendors

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent experience required. An associate's degree or vocational technical training is advantageous. Niche skill training/certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
• Proven experience in the area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
• Ability to lift and move material up to 50 pounds.
• Working experience with troubleshooting Programable Logistic Controllers (PLC) is required.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Ability to work in diverse conditions: small spaces, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, standing long hours on concrete, wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
• Competent in - MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google G-Suite.
• Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
