Denkavit USA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and automation systems in our Auburn, NY facility. You will work with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

The role requires hands-on skills with PLCs, drives, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading drawings. You will document work in CMMS and support safety programs, including OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology or related field.
  • 2+ years in industrial maintenance or electro-mechanical work.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with electrical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs and automation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and documenting maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs.
  • Diagnose and repair bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulics.
  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and tooling.
  • Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Maintain safety and OSHA compliance, lockout/tagout practices.
  • Document work in CMMS and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Job description

Position Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and promoting a safe working environment.



Key Responsibilities


  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, and control circuits.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, chains, belts, and power transmission systems.

  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and production equipment.

  • Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and controls.

  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures.

  • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance.

  • Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.



Required Qualifications


  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.

  • Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and calibrators.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.



Preferred Qualifications


  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).

  • Experience with robotics, automated systems, and vision systems.

  • Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical Technology.

  • Welding and fabrication experience.

  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.



Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts as required.

  • Ability to safely work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
