Briggs & Stratton seeks an Electro-Mechanical Engineer II to design, develop, and oversee production of integrated electro-mechanical systems and sheet metal components. The role bridges mechanical design with electrical control systems, applying CAD and CAE analysis while following the NPD process to troubleshoot and optimize product lines in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional engineering experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop integrated electro-mechanical assemblies, systems, and sheet metal components.
• Create CAD drawings, electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications.
• Apply CAE analysis techniques to evaluate designs and resolve engineering or customer concerns.
• Adhere to the NPD process from concept to post-launch steps.
• Design testing methods and standards to verify system capabilities and material properties.
• Conduct and specify complex tests to evaluate product performance.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot product failures using root-cause analysis.
• Modify engineering analysis techniques to solve highly complex problems.
• Recommend manufacturing methods during design phase based on cost and material studies.
• Identify and recommend improvements in fabrication workflows and equipment utilization.
• Partner with supply chain and vendors to evaluate suppliers and source components.
• Act as a technical liaison among engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams.
• Communicate design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
