Job description

Contract Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician — Corsicana, TX

Step into a 24/7 packaging and extrusion operation where your electrical and controls strengths keep production moving. In this contract role, you will be a Pro Services employee embedded onsite with our customer, a leading producer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging. The plant runs around the clock, the pace is reactive, and the team counts on techs who can diagnose from the cabinet to the PLC and still turn a wrench on hydraulics and pneumatics.

A day in this role

6:55 AM: You meet the outgoing crew, review open work orders in CMMS, and walk the line.

7:20 AM: A packaging cell trips out. You isolate power, follow LOTO, and trace the issue across 0–24V control circuits, 110–240V single phase, and 480V three phase with your meter and schematics in hand.

9:05 AM: You connect your laptop to review ladder logic, verify I/O health, and use the HMI to pinpoint a failed sensor that took out the cycle.

12:30 PM: Extrusion needs help. You swap a pre-built hydraulic cylinder, check pump performance, and verify valve and pressure sensor function.

2:10 PM: On a separate machine, you service a gearbox, inspect bearings, and document everything in the CMMS. You follow GMP the entire way.

Across the shift, you jump between troubleshooting, quick repairs, and preventive tasks — always with Safety, Integrity, Pride, and Teamwork front and center.

About the operation

  • Customer: Leading manufacturer serving foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial markets.
  • Structure: Four maintenance crews balanced across mechanical, electrical, and controls with a strong lead on each.
  • Environment: Fast-paced, highly reactive, and collaborative.

What you will handle

  • Rapid response to unplanned downtime in a 24/7 plant.
  • Electrical troubleshooting from 0–24V controls through 110–240V single phase and 480V three phase using meters, diagrams, and cabinet-level diagnostics.
  • Diagnosis and repair of motors, servos, VFDs, transformers, relays, I/O modules, wiring, and sensors.
  • PLC troubleshooting at hardware level (I/O modules) and in software by reviewing ladder logic via laptop; HMI-based diagnostics.
  • Hydraulic work on extrusion equipment: pumps, valves, pressure sensors, and cylinder changeouts using pre-built replacements.
  • Pneumatic system repairs on packaging equipment (primarily cylinder-based).
  • Mechanical tasks including bearing and gearbox inspection, service, and replacement.
  • Strict adherence to GMP and safety practices on every job.
  • Optional weekday PM work when offered, typically scheduled 1–2 weeks in advance.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience and the confidence to work with limited direction.
  • Intermediate-level electrical expertise as your strongest area: control voltage, single phase, and 480V three phase; strong meter use; cabinet troubleshooting; and reading diagrams and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with motors, servos, VFDs, transformers, relays, I/O modules, wiring, and sensors.
  • PLC troubleshooting at both hardware and software levels, including connecting to review ladder logic.
  • Comfort using HMIs for diagnostics.
  • Intermediate mechanical skills including bearings and gearboxes.
  • Intermediate hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • GMP experience.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule on a 2-2-3 pattern, switching between days and nights every two weeks and working every other weekend.

Nice to have

  • Advanced electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic capability.
  • PLC programming exposure.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, ABB, or Mitsubishi equipment, and Logix 5000 or Studio 5000.
  • Hydraulic accumulator knowledge.
  • Robot troubleshooting experience.
  • Mechanical rebuilds, reading mechanical diagrams, and work with shafts and seals.
  • Experience with conveyor or corrugated systems.
  • Knowledge of positive displacement, air diaphragm, or centrifugal pumps.

Training and onboarding

  • Day 1: Plant orientation followed by integration into the maintenance department.
  • First 3–4 weeks: Day shift alongside senior core technicians.
  • Learn the CMMS, spare parts process, plant layout, and the equipment you will support.
  • Safety emphasis throughout onboarding.

Pay, benefits, and schedule

  • $34–$38 per hour based on experience, paid weekly.
  • Pro Services is an employee-owned company (ESOP).
  • Medical premiums 100% paid by Pro Services starting Day 1 for single and family plans.
  • Vision and dental insurance.
  • Matching 401(k).
  • Vacation and holiday pay.
  • Schedule: 2-2-3 rotation; 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; rotate between days and nights every two weeks. Every other weekend is a three-day work stretch; the alternate weekend is three days off.
  • Overtime: Available as needed for vacation coverage, call-offs, or weekday PMs; not routine.

Work environment
